A legacy of excellence
Pearl Valley Public School
Nestled in the scenic town of Rawalakot, Azad Kashmir, Pearl Valley Public School and College stands as the pioneering institution of the Kashmir Education Foundation (KEF). Established on August 14, 1996, this school was KEF’s pilot project, designed to bring quality education to underprivileged children in Rawalakot and surrounding villages. With over 700 students aged 6 to 16, Pearl Valley Public School and College has grown into a beacon of educational excellence in the region.
The school operates as a non-residential day school, providing access to education for children from villages spread over 200 square kilometres, home to more than 100,000 people. In keeping with KEF’s commitment to gender equality, over 50% of students enrolled are girls, ensuring young women in these rural areas receive the same educational opportunities as their male counterparts.

Pearl Valley Public School is equipped with state-of-the-art educational facilities, making it the equal of any modern institution. Students have access to a computer room, science labs, a well-stocked library with over 15,000 books, a language lab, audio-visual facilities, an arts and crafts room, a gymnasium, and an auditorium. These resources enable students to learn in an interactive and engaging environment, fostering both academic and personal growth.
From its inception, Pearl Valley Public School and College has benefitted from international support, with organisations such as the British Council, U.K. Voluntary Services Overseas, and Australian Volunteers International contributing to its success. The first three principals of the school were highly qualified British educators, and the institution has cultivated strong ties with Valentines High School and Acklam Grange School in England. These partnerships have enriched the learning experience at Pearl Valley and continue to enhance its academic offerings.
The school’s academic reputation is unparalleled, consistently achieving top positions in the Federal Board School Exam league tables. Many of its graduates have secured places at some of Pakistan’s most prestigious universities, including LUMS, NUST, Bahria University, and Cadet Colleges, a remarkable feat for students from rural backgrounds. The success of its alumni is a testament to the transformative power of education and the unwavering dedication of the school’s faculty and supporters.
Pearl Valley Public School and College is more than just a school—it is a symbol of hope, opportunity, and progress for the children of Rawalakot. By supporting QEF and its mission, you can help sustain and expand this life-changing initiative, empowering the next generation of leaders and changemakers.
