Choose how to give

Give once or every month. Zakat has its own option, so that it is always kept separate.

Donations, Sadaqah and Sadaqah Jariyah

Give to our schools

Your donation helps children in rural communities learn with well-trained teachers, and helps young women train as teachers. Places at the schools do not depend on a family’s ability to pay.

Give a little every month to help us plan ahead, or make a one-off payment. Use these buttons for general donations, Sadaqah and Sadaqah Jariyah.

Zakat only

Give Zakat

Zakat is held separately from all other gifts, and QEF takes no costs from it. KEF applies it as concessions on fees for eligible pupils, and on fees, hostel and meals for eligible trainee teachers. Read how KEF applies Zakat before you give.

Please use these buttons, not the general donation buttons, for Zakat.

Your donation opens doors

In the rural communities we support, a good school close to home changes what a child can hope for. For a girl, it can mean finishing her education, training as a teacher and earning a living in her own community.

Your gift helps:

  • keep school places open to girls and boys whose families could not otherwise afford a good education;
  • train young women as primary teachers at the Joan Atkinson College of Teacher Education;
  • keep classrooms, libraries and teaching running, year after year.

Girls who learn today can become the teachers of tomorrow. Read about girls’ education.

Why your gift matters

According to KEF, educating a child at one of its rural schools costs about Rs 5,225 a month. Families pay low fees, and KEF subsidises an average of Rs 1,680 per child per month. Training a teacher at the Joan Atkinson College of Teacher Education costs about Rs 35,000 a month for each trainee, who pays a subsidised Rs 10,500, including accommodation and meals. Your gift helps KEF meet these costs.
