On Saturday 18 October 2025, supporters, trustees and members of the local community gathered at Aagrah Midpoint in Thornbury, Bradford, for Quest for Education Foundation’s Annual Fundraising Dinner. The evening raised tens of thousands of pounds for education for disadvantaged children in Pakistan, and celebrated the work of QEF and our partner, the Kashmir Education Foundation (KEF).

Speeches
The evening was chaired by Ishtiaq Mir. Several speakers addressed the guests, each speaking about why education matters and what supporters in Bradford have helped to achieve.
Our patron, Sir David Green KCMG CVO, was Guest of Honour. He spoke last, about his visit to KEF’s schools in Pakistan earlier this year, in April. He described the improvements he saw in science education, in the training of teachers at the Joan Atkinson College of Teacher Education, and in the opportunities open to children who might otherwise have none, and thanked the Bradford community for its long-term support.

Remembering two friends of education
The evening was dedicated to the memory of two longstanding supporters who have passed away.
- Haji Mussadhik Hussain, who supported education in Pakistan for more than 25 years.
- Haji Mohammad Sabir MBE, founder of Aagrah Restaurants and a longstanding supporter of KEF.
Guests paused to remember them, and to thank the families who carry their commitment forward.
- Guests offer a prayer during the evening.

Where the money goes
The funds raised at the dinner will support the schools and the college we work with through KEF, where girls and boys learn side by side and young women train as primary teachers. For this event only, a proportion of the money raised on the evening was also intended for the educational needs of children with cancer at Indus Hospital & Health Network. Thank you
The dinner was organised by Salmaan Hussain, Muhabat Hussain and Martin Cawley, with valuable help from Ishtiaq Mir, Iffat Ferdinand and many other volunteers. Our thanks go to them, to Aagrah for hosting us, and to everyone who came and gave so generously.
