At Quest for Education Foundation, we are inspired by those who go above and beyond to support children’s access to education. Today, we are proud to shine a light on a truly remarkable individual: Amina Ansari.
Amina is a distinguished British-Pakistani visual artist, born in London, with an impressive academic background from Central Saint Martins, London College of Printing, and the National College of Arts in Lahore. Her portfolio includes portraits of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah for the Pakistan High Commission in London, and a painting of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, which has been proudly displayed at Windsor Castle.
Beyond her artwork, Amina has made a lasting impact through cultural engagement and public service. She has led art workshops aboard the Royal Navy’s HMS Argyll and at the iconic Lords Cricket Ground. Her painting for the British Army was unveiled at the Ministry of Defence and received national attention. Her work explores themes of visibility and invisibility, drawing on both Western and Eastern influences and incorporating architectural and patterned elements from both traditions.
Her accomplishments extend beyond the arts. She has received numerous awards for her artwork and public speaking, and her contributions have been recognised by media outlets, including the BBC. Amina’s background also includes event management and communication direction, allowing her to build a broad network across fashion, media, and the cultural sector. She is a strong advocate for diversity and equality, using her platform to promote meaningful dialogue and opportunity.
Recently, Amina underwent cochlear implant surgery, which highlighted her resilience and determination. Now, she is preparing for a new challenge. On 17th July 2025, she will take part in a Wing Walk, standing on top of a flying plane while it is in motion, to raise funds for two causes that are close to her heart: the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and the Quest for Education Foundation.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award helps young people develop essential life skills through service, physical activity, and personal challenge. Funds raised from this event will help the charity reach even more young people who would not otherwise have the opportunity to take part.
At the same time, Amina is raising awareness for the Quest for Education Foundation, which supports children from underprivileged communities in Pakistan by helping them access quality education in a safe and nurturing environment. Her efforts remind us that courage can take many forms. It might be a child walking long distances to school, or an artist facing her fears to stand on the wings of a moving aircraft.
You can support Amina’s Wing Walk by donating through her JustGiving page:
