A community dinner in Luton

25 September 2013 | Fundraising and events

On Saturday 21 September 2013, Quest for Education (now Quest for Education Foundation) held a fundraising dinner in Luton. The evening was in aid of children in rural Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), through the schools we support with our partner, the Kashmir Education Foundation (KEF).

The evening

Guests sat at tables dressed in white, with lilies at the centre of each. Many came as families, with children at the tables. Framed school photographs were on display beside the stage, with a table of gift baskets and prizes nearby. A slide on the screen welcomed everyone to a fundraising dinner organised by Quest for Education in aid of children in Azad Kashmir and Pakistan, with our charity number, 1142569.

Where the money goes

Funds raised by QEF support the work of the Kashmir Education Foundation (KEF), which has run schools in the region since 1996. KEF’s schools include Pearl Valley Public School in Rawalakot, its first, established on 14 August 1996; Soan Valley Public School in Bassali, established in May 2005; and Banjosa Valley Public School, established in March 2009. Its college of teacher education at Bassali, which KEF started in 2001, trains women as primary teachers. Read about the schools we support.

Thank you to everyone who took part and donated, and to all who helped organise the evening. To support the schools today, please make a donation.
